Nanci Alcorn, born in Portland, Oregon, to Elmer and Adele Noren, was the beloved wife of best-selling author and former pastor Randy Alcorn. Nanci and Randy met in December 1968, in their freshman year of high school. They never dated anyone else after they met, and they married in May 1975. In 1977, Randy became one of the two original pastors of Good Shepherd Community Church, where Nanci served faithfully through youth groups, Sunday School, and Bible studies.
Nanci and Randy had two daughters and sons-in-law and five grandsons. Nanci loved Disneyland and other Southern California theme parks and was always eager to take her kids there. She traveled with Randy and sometimes with the girls, all over the world. The family took a two-month trip to visit Good Shepherd missionaries in Egypt, Kenya, Greece, Austria, and England. She loved watching football, tennis, basketball, and every other sport her daughters and grandsons played. Nanci coauthored Help for Women Under Stress: Preserving Your Sanity with Randy in 2013.
